Video of the Day: Homemade Applesauce
Applesauce is a very misunderstood dessert, condiment, side dish, or however you want to classify it. Nutritionally, some folks believe that it's just the garbage apple processors throw away (kind of like meat packers and hot dogs), but as an avid maker of Homemade Applesauce, my concoction is anything but garbage. Nothing goes through a sieve, skins are cooked with the apples even after being peeled and tossed off...this is not your commercially made tasteless mixture. Try my recipe for Homemade Applesauce or check out this video from Ina Garten's, the Barefoot Contessa from Food Network, making her Homemade Applesauce. I may be changing my cooking methods after watching this, myself!
