I started writing this whole long diatribe about how and why I started cooking...it was meant to be for today's launch. Instead, I'm going to move all of that to the about me section so we don't get lost in our true mission: talking about loaves and baking and all things sweet and yummy (I might just throw in some savory stuff from time to time)!
So this past weekend I made an apple spice pecan loaf with a lemon cream cheese icing. IT WAS DIVINE! I would have put up pics of the whole process and the final product, but my dumb ass just wasn't thinking and forgot to ask my bro to borrow his camera! This weekend It's banana loaf with a peanut butter cream icing! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The bananas are ripening, so wait..if they're not overriped enough I'm going to do the apple spice again. I wanna test some adjustments to my current yummy recipe that includes a home applesauce and my family's secret spice mix (kind of like an Indian garam masla for desserts)...
It never fails...whenever I bake this bread the house fills with the smell of apples and spices! It's like I'm burning a potpourri candle or something...the smell is insanely delicious! So when it pops out of the oven I'm so tempted to not let it cool and dive right in...
Tomorrow I'll post my current recipe and tell you the adjustments I plan to make....
